We marveled at the superheroes who conquered the silver screen this year. But we all know that not all these movies are stellar. Some of these movies still fell short of the viewer’s expectation. Here is our ranking of 2016‘s superhero movies from the worst to the most outstanding.
1. Max Steel.
This sci-fi action movie based on a Mattel toy and an animated TV series about Max who becomes a metal-suited superhero whenever he merges with Steel, a comedic alien parasite.
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
A solid proof evidencing its flop is the disappointing $35.3M earnings it raked during its first week.
3. Batman vs. Superman: The Dawn of Justice.
Even though the film took over $870 million when compared with the $1.153 billion that its ultimate nemesis “Captain America: Civil War” brought in, proves that many still find the movie quite lacking.
4. Suicide Squad.
Even though Suicide Squad raked in a total of over $745M making it the 8th highest grossing film in 2016, it received quite some negative reviews thanks to its muddled plot, thinly-written characters, and choppy directing.
5. X-men Apocalypse.
The movie is the ninth installment of the X-men film series. Although the film did well regarding grossed earnings (it raked in a total of over $543 M worldwide), it received a fair amount of mixed reviews from critics.
